On Wednesday, 8 July 2026, we warmly invite you to join us for the official opening of the new Geopark Information Centre Bad Eisenkappel and its Open Day.
From 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark, meet our team and discover the geological, natural and cultural heritage of our cross-border region. You will also be invited to share your ideas and suggestions for the future development of the region by contributing to our ideas box.
At 6:00 p.m., the official opening of the Geopark Gallery on the Vellach Promenade and the new Geopark Information Centre Bad Eisenkappel will take place. The ceremony will be enriched by performances from pupils of the local primary and secondary school.
Following the official programme, all visitors are warmly invited to enjoy refreshments and spend the evening together in a relaxed atmosphere.
We look forward to welcoming you and celebrating this important milestone for the Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark together.
