Obir Dripstone Caves

Welcome to Carinthia's most fascinating natural wonder!

The fascination of the Obir Dripstone Caves comes from the incomparable mix of nature and man, from the symbiosis of 200 million years of history and modern technology.

The caves were discovered in 1870, when miners started to search for lead and zinc. The living stalactites in the caves are a rarity in Europe.

The caves are located at 1078 m above sea level and offer a magnificent panoramic view.

The temperature in the caves is constant at 8°C. The Obir Stalactite Caves can be reached only by the cave buses, which shuttle regularly to the cave entrance. Please note that the visit is possible only as part of a guided tour.

Everyone over the age of 4 is welcome! The caves are often fully booked for many days - please reserve your cave visit well in time!
